What Is Iyengar Yoga?
Iyengar yoga is named after its creator: B.K.S. Iyengar. He authored many classic texts about yoga, and he taught and practiced yoga until shortly before his death in 2014 at the age of 95. Iyengar is generally considered to be the most practiced form of yoga in the world, yet it puts greater emphasis on tradition rather than trends. It is a form of Hatha yoga that combines physical poses and breath control, and Iyengar often employs the use of props and sequencing.
